SPRINGDALES SCHOOL DHAULA KUAN It was a moment of great pride as the South African High Commission  and Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan came together to organize an ‘On the Spot’ Children’s Painting Contest  at Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan on 15th October, 2018 to commemorate the  year 2018, as  the centenary of the birth of Nelson Mandela, the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi125th anniversary of Gandhi Pietermaritzburg incident, both Global Peace Icons and Visionary Leaders, and 25 years of diplomatic relations between South Africa and India .

Celebrating the warm friendship of the two countries as well as rich legacy of Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi, the themes for the contest were- “Friendship” for the age group 9-12 years and “Legacy” for the age group 13-16 years; which was adjudged by a panel of well-known Artists and Painters .

Welcoming the dignitaries from the South African High Commission as well as the budding artists from various schools, Dr. Jyoti Bose, Director, Springdales Schools saluted the two visionaries Mandela and Gandhi for their great contribution to world peace and highlighted the need to celebrate the friendship between the two countries and legacy left behind by these global icons.

 Dr. H.N.Manzini, High Commissioner (Designate), South African High Commission suggested that the Contest aimed at providing a rich platform to the students to display their talent and celebrate the cherished ideals of the two great visionaries as well as the strengthen bonds between the two nations.

The Prize for the Best Team was bagged by Springdales School, Pusa Road .
