SPRINGDALES SCHOOL DHAULA KUAN Music is a universal language and transcends all barriers of time and space. It melts the soul and transforms our Vasudhev into Kutumbkam. Celebrating this power of music, 500 talented singers came together to re-create a musical confluence of world cultures at Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan on the occasion of the Annual Inter-House Choir Festival held on Friday, May 10th, 2019. The Chief Guest for this glittering event was Mr. Kajal Ghosh, Music Director.
Welcoming the guests to the musical extravaganza, Dr. Jyoti Bose, Director, Springdales Schools reiterated that the musical extravaganza showcases a tapestry of different languages, styles and rhythms.
A scintillating performance blending the classical and contemporary dance forms of the invocation cast a magical spell on the audience. The musical fiesta captured the ethereal beauty of music in all its nuances. The soulful harmonies and vibrant rhythms of the Eight Houses in a wide spectrum of languages ranging from Latin, Urdu to Malayalam, Swahili English and Spanish found an echo in the hearts of the audience and filled the auditorium with melody and euphony.
Complimenting the young singers of the school for a wide range of multicultural and multilingual performances, Mr. Kajal Ghosh highlighted that Music is a great equalizer and has the power to build a world – ‘Where the mind us without fear and the head is held high’.
The event was judged by Ms. Svetlana Radaskevich, Secondary School Music Teacher, British School, Ms. Srabani Bahuguna, exponent of Hindustani Classical Music and Ms. Nandita Basu, Licentiate and Associate from the London College of Music.
Endeavour House was awarded the first prize, Forward House and Equality House received the second and third prize respectively. Anubhav Dhyani bagged the Trophy for the Best Soloist in the Male Category whereas Suranya Kathuria received the prize for the Best Solo Performer in the Female Category.
