SPRINGDALES SCHOOL DHAULA KUAN The school celebrated the 72nd milestone of Independent India with a meaningful cultural programme on Tuesday, 14th August, 2018 in the School Auditorium.
Deeply impressed by the stimulating and thought challenging programme, the Guest of Honour, Col. Ranjith Nair, Senior Advisor, Medicine & Nephrology (HOD), Army Hospital, Dhaula Kuan, suggested the students to make the school motto “Vasudhev Kutumbkam – The World is a Family” be their guiding spirit. Upholding the cherished ideals of Rabindranath Tagore, Col. Nair advised the future generation to build a nation where there is freedom from ignorance, misogyny, intolerance and narrow mindsets.
The Auditorium was filled with patriotic fervour as the School Choir traced the daring spirit of the freedom fighters through their soulful rendition of Sahir Ludhianvi’s ghazal “Hum Bhi Dekhenge”. The students projected the challenges faced by India at 72 and the proactive role to be played by the youth in building a secular and liberal country ‘where the mind is without fear’ through their thought provoking presentation ,articles and poems. The finale “Vande Mataram” evoked our deep sense of gratitude to the countless martyrs who sacrificed their lives to attain independence.
Reminiscing the relentless efforts of countless heroes and visionaries who carved a great nation whose strength lies in diversity and multi culturalism, Dr. Jyoti Bose, Director, Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan, motivated the students to take upon their shoulders the task of building a modern India ‘where we can hold our heads high’ and cherish true freedom.
Mrs. Ritu Madan, Officiating Principal, proposed the Vote of Thanks.
