SPRINGDALES SCHOOL DHAULA KUAN A Special Thanks Giving Function was organized by Armenian Embassy and Armenian Cultural Centre at Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan on the 30th Anniversary of Earthquake in Armenia on 7th December, 1988 for the support that had been given by the school to the victims at that time. The event was graced by H.E. Mr. Armen Martirosyan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia and H.E. Dr. Suresh Babu, Former High Commissioner of India to Armenia.
Dr. Jyoti Bose, Director, Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan welcomed the Diplomats and Guests from Armenian Cultural Centre.
Appreciating the selfless efforts of the school in extending a helping hand to the Armenians at the time of national tragedy H.E. Mr. Martirosyan suggested that Springdalians truly epitomise the school motto Vasudhev Kutumbkam as the school considers the world as it’s family in words and spirit.
Recalling the unpleasant memories of destruction, H.E. Dr.Suresh Babu expressed his sincere gratitude to the school for its benevolent action to help Armenia in both cash and kind. H.E. Dr. Babu complimented the school for forging bonds of friendship with countries around the world.
The presentation “Building Bonds of Friendship between Armenia and India” by Dr. Gayane Movsiayan, Head of Armenian Cultural Centre in India apprised the students about their rich cultural heritage and architectural marvels as well as ancient linkages between the two nations.
It was a moment of great honour that the Cultural Centre of Armenia presented mementos and soveigners to the school as a mark of gratitude.
The highlight of the day was a video conference with students and staff of Shirakatsy Lyceum wherein ideas and information about the two nations were exchanged.
