SPRINGDALES SCHOOL DHAULA KUAN At a scintillating confluence of world cultures “The International Children’s Festival” held at Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan, H.E. Mr. Barend Johannes Joubert, Acting High Commissioner, South African High Commission presided over as the Guest of Honour.

Held since 1989, this occasion celebrates the ideals of Shri Yudister Kumar, the architect of Springdalian Education whose vision of world governed by friendship and mutual understanding resonates in the heart of each Springdalian. With around twenty foreign students from countries across the world, Springdales has truly lived to its school motto “Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam”.

In her welcome, Principal Dr. Jyoti Bose, suggested that education for peace is a tool with which we can make every moment a chance to change the world for the better. She also expressed her satisfaction on creating a learning environment and building reservoirs of hope and resolve towards peace.

The evening wove a magnificent tapestry of the diverse and vibrant cultures of the world as the foreign students of Springdales from Japan, Sudan, Egypt, Australia,Palestine represented their country through their costumes and flags.  The auditorium reverberated with a glittering cultural amalgamation of music and dance wherein the talented dancers from each unit enthralled the audience with their captivating performances. While the students from the Russian Embassy School won the hearts of one and all as they swayed to the beats of a popular Bollywood number, the Iraqi School students spread the fragrance of their melody and rhythm by rendering a song of friendship.

Presenting mementos to the participants, H.E. Mr. Joubert complimented the school for making concerted efforts for inculcating a spirit of acceptance and mutual understanding in the students. Tracing the struggle of India and South Africa for independence, he thanked Springdales for its support for so many decades till freedom was won.
