SPRINGDALES SCHOOL DHAULA KUAN Springdalian air permeated with words like Innovate, Create, Technological Engineering and Robotics at the inauguration of the ATAL TINKERING LABORATORY being set up in the school under the auspices of Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, Government of India. Present on the occasion were Dr. Henry Throop, eminent Planetary Astronomer and Senior Scientist, Planetary Service Institute, Tucson, Arizona and Mumbai, along with Eminent Officials of the Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog. The programme was also attended by erudite scientists, intelligentsia, members of the School Board as well as the students and staff of nearby Government and Private Schools along with the children of our adopted community of the adjacent Shri J. J. Cluster.
Welcoming the guests, Dr. Jyoti Bose, Principal, Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan, expressed her elation at this novel idea initiated by the government, which fosters creativity and scientific spirit of inquiry amongst the learners.
In an Interactive and informative session held in the School Auditorium earlier in the morning, Dr. Throop apprised the senior students of school about the NASA’s New Horizon Mission to Pluto and beyond.
The young scientists of the school were engaged in various workshops including Lego Robotics, 3D Printing, Arduino Robotics, Electronic Circuits. The visitors were awestruck to see the wide variety of gadgets and mobile applications being designed by them for disaster management, for helping people with special needs and projects on energy conservation.
